Her Justice


Her Justice provides legal assistance to low-income residents of New York City who are female or identify as female. Her Justice concentrates on matrimonial law, handling uncontested and litigated divorces. Her Justice also concentrates on family law, encompassing custody and visitation of minor children, child support, spousal support and orders of protection. Regarding immigration, we focus on the Violence Against Women Act Self-Petition and Battered Spouse Waiver, U Non-Immigrant Status and T Visas.

What is not included?

  • For family and matrimonial law matters, the adverse party must reside in the United States. Clients must have the address for the adverse party. Her Justice does not handle publication divorces.
  • Her Justice has financial eligibility criteria: in general, clients should be within 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
  • Our immigration practice is limited to: Self-Petitions and Battered Spouse Waivers under VAWA, U Non-Immigrant Status and T Visas.
